My first book: Lemon-Quartz
Eleven–year-old Lemon-Quartz only has vague memories of her loving mother, who died when she was much younger. She cherishes the lemon-quartz bracelet that was the only thing left to her.
Papa, her father, marries again but his new wife is a fierce stepmother. While Lemon-Quartz battles with Samantha, she loves her four half-siblings, Amie, Lily, Monty and baby Arnold, who all look up to and admire her.
Tragically, Lemon-Quartz is orphaned when Papa dies suddenly of typhus.
Desperate to escape her stepmother, she earns money by singing in the streets and runs away to Bournemouth, taking her half-siblings with her.
Overwhelmed with trying to take care of frightened children in a strange place,
Lemon-Quartz walks away on her own. When she returns, she discovers they are missing.

Meet Lemon-Quartz
Lemon-Quartz is the heroine of our story - headstrong, passionate and utterly committed to her siblings. However, this can also lead to trouble sometimes, especially when she answers back to her step mother, Samantha.
Lemon-Quartz is also a loyal friend, and harbours ambitions of one day singing on a bigger stage!

Lemon-Quartz adores her father, 'Papa', who often has a sherbert lemon saved just for her!
Lily, 4
Lily is very excitable and very sweet. She loves flowers, especially lilies!
Samantha
Samantha is Lemon-Quartz's stepmother, with a sharp temper. She is very set in her ways.
Monty, 3
A year younger than Lily, Monty and Lily are closer than twins! He is very mischievous and stubborn.
Amie, 6
Lemon-Quartz's oldest half-sibling, Amie is loyal and energetic, with a love of drawing.
Arnold, 1
The baby of the family, literally! Arnold has a very cheerful nature and loves being around his siblings
Daisy Faith Evans and Lemon-Quartz Ellen-James
Daisy first got the idea for Lemon-Quartz when she was nine and spent much of her teenage years (including the 2020 Covid pandemic) writing and editing her novel, before finally publishing it in August of 2023 when she was seventeen. She also created her own illustrations for Lemon-Quartz.
